A defector is a person who betrays their side in a conflict for opposing forces to the detriment of their original side. The Central Intelligence Agency conducted an internal study of American defectors to the Soviet Union, this included Lee Harvey Oswald. The document is comprised of information and commentary. It covers the subject's background, defection, time in the Soviet Union, and their later status. The House Select Committee on Assassinations subsequently conducted a further study that cites portions of the original document.
